   The rock scene in the Philippines have been portrayed by various character-catalysts from the likes of early enthusiasts such as The Juan Dela Cruz Band, Joey ‘Pepe’ Smith, Mike Hanopol, and Sampaguita, up to the classic alternative and heavy metal bands like the Eraserheads, Siakol, Rivermaya, Slapshock, Teeth, Yano and down to their present successor

What started as a band paying homage to Brazilian artist Chico Science became a big hit that really made waves and changed the contemporary Pinoy rock scene. The band members started out as college students from Ateneo de Manila University. Mong Alcaraz, Miguel Chavez, Joel Salvador and Carlos Calderon were those college kids, who took in guitarist Sonny Baquisal and Eugene Esquivias to make their gig-playing move from mere dabbling to a full-fledged rock music career. Since then, they have really risen up the ranks and became at par with other Pinoy rock artists that rock Manila today.

If you have been in the Pinoy rock scene for quite some time, you will most probably be familiar with the name Bamboo.
